Bollocks: Was chatting to a lad who used to play Yorkshire league cricket and he told me this tale, sounds a bit like a sporting urban myth but made me smile.

He was opening the batting but not facing and the oppo quick's first ball trapped his opening partner bang in front about half way up his back pad. The lad said it was as clear an lbw as you get and the bowler's appeal was more celebration than question. However, the umpires were one member from each club and it was their man alongside him and to the fielding team's astonishment he just blanked the appeal. The bowler went muttering back to his mark then thundered in and produced a beautiful out-swinger that the batsman diverted into the keeper's gloves via a big (and loud) nick. Again, our lad said it couldn't have been clearer but, again, the umpire cocked a deaf 'un to the bowler's elated appeal. Apparently the bowler kept his expletives fairly low-key and hurried back to his start. This time, quickened by fury, he produced an exocet-style yorker that ripped the middle stump out of the ground and sent it cartwheeling past the 'keeper. Then he turned to the umpire and said 'Oooh! Nearly had the fucker that time, eh Ump?'.
